Here's what's happening:

• Assumption Church's SeptemberFest Celebration will be held on Sunday, September 7th. Start your day with indoor mass at 8am and outdoor mass at 10. Sunday dinner is served from 11 to 1 and on the menu is roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, and all the trimmings. Bingo starts at noon and enjoy a cold beverage in the Beer Garden. There will be food booths and games, an ice cream social, and enjoy the Twins on the big screen. Don't forget the Country Store selling garden produce, baked goods, fresh donuts, and more. Assumption Church is located at 207 East 3rd Street in Morris.
• 24th Annual Harvest Holiday Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 13th from 9am to 3pm at the Lee Community Center in Morris. Stop in and check out the many craft and food vendors. At 10am there's a pumpkin decorating contest, there will be a Cake Walk Contest on the hour every hour, and Footnotes Dance Studio performances at 11:30 and 1:30.
• Morris Area School Board will meet in regular session on Monday, September 8th at 7:00pm at the High School Media Center. This meeting is sceduled early (not the 3rd Monday of the month) as a start of the year meeting to finalize last-minute hires.
• Morris Area School Board will have 4 positions open for this election. Dates to file for election for one of these positions are August 26th through September 9th at the Morris Area School District Office.
• Recycle your plastic bags!There are two new recycling bins for plastic bags located outside of Willie's Super Valu in Morris.
• Grief Share, a special help seminar and support group for people experiencing grief and loss, will be held on Thursday evenings beginning September 4th at 6:30pm at the Evangelical Free Church in Morris. For more information call Mary at 589-2614 or Gail at 589-4710.
