An explosion led to serious damage on a home in Alexandria.  The Alexandria Fire Department responded to the blaze on County Road 22 on Sunday. Sheriff’s deputies report the homeowner was outside when the explosion occurred inside the house. Steve Schulke ran into the house and observed fire in the basement. He shut the basement door then ran outside to call 9-1-1.  The fire was extinguished before it could spread to the rest of the house. The Alexandria Fire Department estimated damage to the home between $20,000 and $30,000 dollars.
