MORRIS – Eight unearned runs allowed proved too much for Morris in a 13-9 loss to Kerkhoven in the Jr. Legion baseball playoffs on Friday.
Each team collected 10 hits as the bats were hot, but four Morris errors made the difference.
At the plate Zach Bruns led the 5039s going 3-4 with an RBI and three runs, Jack Riley drove in three on two hits, Cade Fehr had two RBI’s, while Eli Grove and Bradley Rohloff each added two hits.
Morris used three pitchers with Austin Berlinger suffering the loss. Combined they allowed 13 runs (five earned) on 10 hits, with six walks and four strikeouts.

GROVE CITY – On Saturday the Morris bats stayed hot and they were able to stave off elimination with at 16-12 win over New London-Spicer.
Eli Grove was 4-4 with three RBI’s and two runs, while Zach Bruns, Jack Riley, Jacob Ulrich, Cade Fehr, and Bradley Rohloff each knocked in two runs. Bruns and Riley each had three hits and combined for five runs scored.
Rohloff picked up the win in relief of Fehr, tossing two innings of one-run ball.
