Seven landowners in Stevens County have petitioned the Board of Commissioners for improvements to deal with drainage issues in Ditch #25, which lies primarily in Baker Township. County Coordinator Becky Young told the KMRS Community Connection program that there are many steps in the costly process.

The Commissioners discussed the petition at their board meeting this week. Farmer John Hollman expressed his concern to the board at the cost of the project, saying he could end up paying $200,000 over a number of years and not get anything out of it. He stated that “there must be a better way to pay for it.”
