Actor Patrick Scully will perform his one-man show “Leaves of Grass Illuminated” 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 at the Morris Public Library. This solo performance by Scully summons the spirit of America’s great poet, Walt Whitman, revealing Whitman’s many sides. Whitman’s 200th birthday is approaching next May 31. Scully’s performance has been praised by the Village Voice, Lavender Magazine and the Star Tribune, and he will perform this show next year at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.

Morris Public Library Director Anne Barber told the KMRS Community Connection program that the writings of Walt Whitman remain relevant for modern audiences.
