Prairie Winds Aikido will celebrate its 10th anniversary in Morris with a special guest, classes and seminars during the weekend of August 24th through 26th. Rev. Zenko Okimura, a 7th Dan Shihan and Chief Instructor of World Aikido Aikikai, Inc. will lead classes Saturday morning and afternoon August 25 at the Morris Area Elementary School, as well as Sunday morning, Aug. 26. Okimura Shihan is coming from Delaware, but is connected to the head of all Aikido in the world in Japan. He will also conduct a calligraphy class 2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at the Prairie Winds Dojo at 714 E. Columbia Ave. in Morris. During the weekend, two students will receive their black belts, the first time black belts will be received by students of Prairie Winds Aikido.
