Students started moving in this past weekend at the University of Minnesota-Morris, with first day of classes starting Wednesday, August 29. UMM Chancellor Michelle Behr would not commit to an enrollment number when she visited the KMRS Community Connection earlier this week, but she did say deposits were up this year compared to last, so she expects a “robust” incoming class.
The top declared majors for incoming freshmen are biology, chemistry and elementary education, though Behr noted that one-quarter of UMM students end up with multiple majors by graduation.
Behr also told KMRS that 85 percent of students are involved in co-curricular activites, with two-thirds taking a leadership position in a campus club.
Behr said there were over 100 clubs on campus for students to get involved with. And students always have the option of starting a new club.
