NEW LONDON – The Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta Tigers handled their first true road test with relative ease, sweeping New London-Spicer 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 on Tuesday night.
The Tigers held the lead for the majority of the night with the Wildcats remaining close, but never able to make a strong run.
LaRae Kramm tallied 13 assists while serving 9-9 with an ace, two blocks and six digs to lead the Tigers. Bailey Marty had 11 kills, eight digs, Lexi Pew had eight kills, Kenzie Hockel added seven with two service aces and five digs, Riley Decker chipped in with nine digs while serving 16-16 with an ace.
The Tigers are 4-1 and the Wildcats fall to 2-3.
Henning 3, Brandon-Evansville 0
HENNING – Brandon-Evansville struggled to find consistency in a loss to Henning, 25-17, 25-18, 25-20 on Tuesday in Henning.
Bailey Schaefer had 13 kills, Madison Quinn tallied 20 assists and Sara Jacobson had seven digs as the Chargers fall to 1-1. The Hornets are 1-0.

MORRIS – Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta junior Noah Stewart took second at the Tiger Invite from Pomme de Terre on Tuesday under wet soggy conditions, finishing behind West Central Area’s Jacob Bright by eight seconds.
Ben Hernandez finished 14th and Solomon Johnson was 25th for the Tigers who took fifth in team scoring. Jack Van Kempen took third, Kade Runge was sixth and Kyle Schill placed 11th for the Knights who took second as a team, behind Lac qui Parle Valley.
Wesley Siira took 38th place for Brandon-Evansville, Zach Stueve came in 84th place for Border West.
On the girls side, the Tigers Maddie Carrington took fourth place, 22 seconds back of Lac qui Parle’s Isabel Schirm.
Meredith Carrington was 11th and Crystol Nohl took 21st, the Tigers took fifth place as a team. Lac qui Parle Valley took first with West Central Area being the runner-up. The Knights Teagen Nelson took fourth place while teammates Lexi Bright was ninth and Bryn Fernholz finished 13th.
Samantha Franzese finished 37th for Border West, Caitlyn Deschene was 58th for Brandon-Evansville.
