The Morris City Council heard a presentation for a five year transit system plan from WSB Engineering at last night’s council meeting at the Morris Senior Center. WSB was selected by MNDOT to do transit planning reviews for the central Minnesota region. WSB planner Tom Kruikshank had early praise for the Morris Transit system, which handles over 60,000 trips annually. He noted that St. Peter, with a population of 12,000, handles nearly the same amount of trips. He also liked the financial picture that he saw in his initial Morris review.
One suggestion Kruikshank said his firm will probably make will be to develop more partnerships in the community. Company representatives will return to Morris in October to meet with transit stakeholders. A final report will be presented next summer.
