Motorists can expect lane closures and delays through the Labor Day Weekend on Highway 104, between Glenwood and Sunburg, and Highway 28, between Glenwood and County Road 26 near Westport. Crews will be completing preventative maintenance sealcoat projects that will extend the life of the pavement surfaces.
The projects will began yesterday on Highway 104, on the section of the road from South Lake Shore Drive in Glenwood to County Road 9 near Sunburg. Once that section is completed, crews will move to Highway 28 between 210th Avenue in Glenwood to County Road 26 near Westport. The work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, September 5, weather permitting.
A pilot car and flaggers will control traffic, and motorists should plan for alternating lane closures in the areas where crews are working. Drivers are urged to slow down and be alert for loose gravel and oil spraying in these areas. Once the sealcoat portion of the projects are complete, crews will return a couple of weeks later to paint road striping. That work will be done under traffic.
