University of Minnesota Extension Master Naturalist Program, in partnership with Lac qui Parle State Park & Mission, invites area residents to participate in National Public Lands Day (NPLD) at Lac qui Parle State Park & Mission sites on Saturday, September 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

National Public Lands Day is the largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands. Volunteers are encouraged to register before September 7 to receive a Master Naturalist NPLD 2018 t-shirt.  Registration officially closes on September 18. Volunteers will collect prairie seed, and work to help manage invasive species by helping remove buckthorn and black locust trees.
