The Stevens County Board of Commissioners can be expected to set a preliminary levy increase of 3% for the coming year. County Coordinator Rebecca Young told KMRS this week that there are three main reasons driving the increase.

Other factors are an 8% increase in the road and bridge repair budget, following a 13% decrease in the 2018 budget, and a 2% Cost of Living Adjustment for three unions the County negotiates with. There will be another one or two work sessions on the budget before it gets finalized.
