Paying for the new water treatment plant was a point of discussion at last week’s Morris City Council meeting. Morris City Manager Blaine Hill told KMRS the City Council has to decide between now and December when and how new water rates kick in, most likely the beginning of the year.

Hill said there will be some savings for businesses and homeowners once the plant is running, since there won’t be as much need for salt, which will also lead to a reduction in the amount of water used. Hill predicted that water softeners in most homes won’t run very often at all once the plant is operational.
