Leigh Anne Tuohy, the inspirational matriarch in Michael Lewis’ best-selling book The Blind Side  — later turned into a movie with Sandra Bullock – will present a convocation address 7 p.m. Friday at Edson Auditorium in the University of Minnesota Morris’ Student Center. Tuohy met her husband of 31 years at Ole Miss and had two children before deciding to take in the promising but troubled African American football player Michael Oher. In 2013, the Tuohy family were on the sidelines cheering Michael and the Baltimore Ravens on to their first Super Bowl victory.

Tuohy is a sought after motivational speaker and will share her personal “Blind Side” observations, from seeing Michael Oher for the first time to how the experience changed her as a person — and the Tuohys as a family.
