This week, a group of German dignitaries will be visiting Morris to formally renew the Climate Smart Municipalities grant program, including the Mayor of Saerbeck, the sister city of Morris, his assistant and a professor who is an expert in wastewater treatment and building management. City Manager Blaine Hill told KMRS that ideas that were just being talked about six years when the relationship started are taking hold on the ground in our region.

Hill noted that Morris, unlike some municipalities, does not own the electric companies, so the City will start the process of setting goals for sustainability and working with partners like Otter Tail Power Company. He pointed out that Morris actually gets more sun than Germany, though the Germans are far ahead in integrating solar technologies.
