With one month before the final Minnesota Buffer Law compliance date of November 1, District Technician Adam Erickson told KMRS listeners that the Stevens Soil and Water Conservation District has a number of progams available to help landowners keep in compliance.

Landowners who have an idea for an alternative practice should discuss it with the Soil and Water Conservation District. Those still not in compliance after November 1 may be subject to financial penalties. Erickson also said that those who need sites flagged or seeded should give the Conservation District plenty of lead time to get the projects done.
