Alexandria Invite
ALEXANDRIA – TheĀ Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta volleyball team competed at the Alexandria Invite on Saturday, going 2-1 in pool play before defeating Alexandria in the third place match 22-25, 26-24, 15-13.

The Tigers dropped their opening match to Ada-Borup 25-13, 11-25, 15-17, before bouncing back to sweep Rocori 25-12, 25-20, and Fergus Falls 25-14, 25-21.

Lex Pew totaled 31 kills on the day, Bailey Marty had 22 and Kenzie Hockel added 16.

Riley Decker racked up 57 digs with four aces at the line, LaRae Kramm had 44 assists and Liz Dietz chipped in with 37. The Tigers are 13-7 on the year.


Border West Invite
WHEATON – Buccaneers senior Samantha Franzese took first at the Border West Invite on Saturday with her time of 23:25.

Brandon-Evansville’s Caitlyn Deschene took second, followed by Danae Azure (Sisseton), Ava Klindworth (BW), Maeve Huisman (B-E), Emily Franzese (BW), Chesney Greseth (Sisseton), and Ruby Koch (BW).

The Chargers Wesley Siira took first on the boys side with a time of 18:50, 29 seconds ahead of teammate Abram Fossell.
Logan Froemming (B-E) took third, Border West’s Joe Arens finished fifth.

The Chargers won the team competition, the Bucs took second and Tri-State was third.
