On Monday morning, the Lac qui Parle Sheriff’s Office was notified of a missing elderly male approximately 2 miles south of Madison and 2 miles west. The male party’s vehicle was localed in a slough about a quarter mile off County Road 14. Emergency personnel were called to the scene where a ground search, aerial search by drones and K-9 search were conducted. The man was located Monday afternoon about three-quarters of a mile from his vehicle.
About 75 law enforcement, EMT’s, first responders, fire personnel and volunteers assisted in the search, including the Sheriff’s Offices from Renville, Pope and Douglas Counties and the Willmar Police Department K-9 unit Equipment and personnel were also supplied by Midwest Machinery, Fieldcrest Fertilizer and Fernholz Crop Insurance.
