A candidate for mayor of Morris was charged with felony drug possession in the 8th Judicial District Court last week. Alison Lisbeth Marie of Morris, age 24, was charged with three counts, ranging from possessing a “not small amount” of marijuana to possessing drug paraphernalia. Officers found the substances after executing a search warrant based on a tip they received. The maximum sentence for the felony charge is not more than 5 years in prison, a fine of $10,000 or both. fgdMarie is on the November ballot for mayor, running against incumbent Sheldon Giese. She was not at last night’s Candidate Forum.
