Alison Lisbeth Marie, who is on this November’s election ballot for voters in Morris, wrote in an email to the Stevens County Times that she no longer considers herself a candidate for mayor. Earlier this month, Marie was charged with a felony drug possession crime. In her email, Marie started “the townspeople need strong leadership, and due to recent events I now believe that I cannot give them the due diligence they deserve.” Marie encouraged constituents to vote for incumbent Mayor Sheldon Giese.
