The unemployment rate for September in Stevens County was at a low 2.0 percent, down 0.1 percent from the August figures, according to data released this week from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. Other unemployment figures released included Big Stone County at 2.1 percent, down 0.1 percent from last month; Pope County at 1.7 percent, down 0.2 percent; Grant County at 2.3 percent, down 0.6 percent; Swift County at 2.5 percent, down 0.4 percent; and Traverse County at 2.0 percent, down 0.3 percent from the prior month.

The overall state unemployment rate for September was 2.2 percent, down 0.3 percent from August data.
