On the November 6 ballot in Hancock will be a proposed levy to raise $7.8 million for an addition at the Hancock School. School officials hope to add a two-story section with added classrooms for science, technology, engineering and math, as well as industrial arts and agriculture, with shops. The proposal would also add weight lifting equipment in two fitness classrooms. The average resident in the Hancock School District with a home worth $150,000 would pay $207 more in annual taxes if the levy passes. Construction may start in April if the voters approve it.
