At last night’s meeting of the Morris School Board, Britta Boe of auditors Eide Bailly presented an executive summary of the financial condition of the district, giving it a “clean” audit opinion. A clean audit means that financial statements were prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards and that there are no material misstatements. Boe noted that the district made more money than expected and spent less than expected, showing an ending fund balance of $4,880,470.

Board member Doug Stahman praised the fact that the district spends roughly 75 percent of its funds on instruction, which is much better than the state average.
