Whether or not a proposed biogas project gets approved, Stevens County Coordinator Rebecca Young and County Planning/Zoning Director Bill Kleindl told the County Board of Commissioners at their meeting this week that there is a need for a Right of Way ordinance.

Young said many issues come up regarding the County’s Right of Ways, such as drainage issues, recreational use and how to deal with postal boxes. A rough draft of the County’s Right of Way ordinance – going largely off a template provided by the Minnesota League of Cities — has been prepared in advance of the 7 p.m. November 29 public hearing on the issue, and is available on the County’s website or at County offices in the Stevens County Courthouse.
