After 33 years, 9 months and 2 weeks of wearing a badge, Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs will be retiring at the end of this year, with his last day of work being December 28. Tiegs was praised for his work at last night’s Morris City Council meeting. The City is in the final process of hiring a sergeant for the department. A Civil Service Commission will be convened to find a replacement for the Chief.
