The Department of Natural Resources’ 18 newest conservation officers will assume their field stations today.

The new officers, who were chosen from among hundreds of applicants, trained for 15 weeks during the late spring and summer at the Conservation Officer Academy at Camp Ripley, and since mid-August have been working with experienced officers.

New officers include Andrew Goodman, who will be stationed in Elbow Lake, and Jacob Swedberg, who will be stationed in Detroit Lakes. The DNR plans to hold another academy in the spring of 2019.
