Though it took a lot of digging and research to get the numbers, Morris’ Green Corps member Ben Erickson calculated the cost of various forms of energy usage for a presentation last week to City officials and members of the Morris Model energy sustainability initiative. His figures included the cost of electricity, natural gas and gasoline to the city.

The big electric users in the city include Denco II at 18 million kilowatt hours for the past year, Superior Industries at 7 million kilowatt hours, the University of Minnesota Morris at 8 million kilowatt hours, and Stevens Community Medical Center at 3.2 million kilowatt hours.
