Outgoing Stevens County Auditor/Treasurer Amanda Barsness gave her final report to the Stevens County Board of Commissioners at their Tuesday meeting at the Courthouse. The board thanked her for her last four years of service. Barsness offered what she considered the two greatest achievements under her tenure.

It was, in fact, the cleanest audit the County had received in a decade. She also noted that November’s elections saw a doubling of the amount of absentee ballots, and a significant increase overall in voter turnout. Donnelly used mail balloting exclusively, and new machines helped make the election process go smoother. Barsness did not seek re-election this year. She told the board she will enter a new role as “Domestic Engineer.”
