The City of Morris held their annual budget meeting following last night’s Morris City Council meeting. The City approved a final 2018 levy increase of 3 percent for collection in 2019, it adopted a final 2019 budget for the city of $11.6 million – an increase of 12.9 percent from last year due largely to expenses from the new water treatment plant – and approved an increase in water and sewer utility rates for 2019.

In his budget presentation to the Council, City Manager Blaine Hill also noted that Morris residents saw an increase in property values.

Hill noted that while water usage rates will nearly double, that will not translate into a doubling of your water bill.
