As part of his presentation to the Morris City Council on the budget and levy this week, City Manager Blaine Hill noted that water usage rates will be doubling for citizens as the city finds ways to pay for the new water treatment plant.

The new rates will go into effect on April 1. Some of the increased costs will be offset by the fact that residents will dramatically reduce the amount of salt they use and may even make some water softeners obsolete.
