Stevens County Sheriff Jason Dingman offered other statistics in his annual review to the Board of Commissioners. The Sheriff’s Office has responded to 4,769 calls for service through November. There were nearly 5,500 calls in all 12 months of 2017. As of December, the Sheriff’s office has held a total of 309 arrestees/defendants in their holding facility, 234 of those being male and 75 female.
The Sheriff’s Office has conducted 654 traffic stops as of December, for various driving infractions. The department’s re-established K-9 unit was deployed 28 times since May. Public appearances count as a deployment. As of December, Stevens County is home to 18 known predatory offenders, 8 of whom are risk level one (the lowest level). There are no level three, or highest, level offenders currently in the county.
