The Minnesota Lynx will kickoff their season at home against the Chicago Sky on Saturday May 25th as a part of the league’s opening weekend. Former Lynx assistant coach James Wade was hired as Chicago’s new head coach a few weeks ago and will return to Target Center to face off against Minnesota.

After an extremely condensed summer that drew the ire of players and coaches alike, the 2019 campaign will return to “normal” with regular season games stretching from May 25th to September 8th.

With the opening of Free Agency and the WNBA Draft still months away, today’s news is a holiday primer for the upcoming season. The Lynx and head coach/GM Cheryl Reeve have a lot of work to do before their season tips off. Only five players are under contract for the 2019 season and starting lineup stalwarts Seimone Augustus and Rebekkah Brunson are considering retirement. We now know what Minnesota’s schedule will look like, but their roster is another story.
