As Morris Police Chief Ross Tiegs prepares for his last day as chief on December 28, he stopped by the KMRS Studios to share some career highlights. Early in his law enforcement career, Tiegs recalled always working around the time a particular young woman did something wrong. Although she didn’t always like him, Tiegs said they had a good rapport. Thirty years later, he occasionally sees the woman’s mother.
An open house retirement party for Chief Tiegs will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. today (Friday) at the Stevens County Courthouse, by the Emergency Operations Center.
