Superintendent Rick Lahn.

Next year’s tax levy for the Morris School District will be going up by 1.29 percent, but Morris Schools Superintenent Rick Lahn told the KMRS Community Connection program that funds from the levy are by far the smaller portion of the district’s revenue.

Specifically, 72 percent of the district’s revenue comes from the state. On the expenditure side, the Morris district is spending about 80 percent of its budget on teacher salaries and classroom instruction, which is above the state average and which Lahn called a healthy sign.
