The Minnesota Twins have selected June 15 as the date on which the team will officially retire former star Joe Mauer’s jersey.

The Twins first announced the decision last month.

Mauer’s No. 7 jersey will be retired during a pregame ceremony at Target Field on what the team is calling “Joe Mauer Day.”

The team has also planned to make available a series of four giveaway bobbleheads commemorating Mauer’s career. Those go on sale starting Jan. 17 at 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, the first 20,000 fans in attendance June 15 will receive a No. 7 baseball hat.

Mauer announced his retirement in November.
