In a cost saving measure, the Stevens County Board of Commissioners yesterday approved a condensed version of their minutes from their last meeting for publication. The 8 pages of minutes took County Coordinator Rebecca Young a half hour of work time to condense to 3 pages. While no one knew exactly how much money would be saved by the publishing of fewer pages in the newspaper, Stevens County Attorney Aaron Jordan said the condensed version is in line with what other counties in the state do.
Full versions of the minutes will still be available on the County’s website, as well as on file with the County Auditor for public viewing.
