The Morris City Council approved a change order for the new water treatment plant at their meeting this week, allowing the plant to open a later than their original plans. City Manager Blaine Hill explained to KMRS that engineers found the water table higher than what they had thought it would be, and had to do a lot of pumping and de-watering to get rid of the water.

Hill said the operation is now in the finishing part, picking paint colors for the walls and the like. The council also discussed having an open house for the public when the facility starts up.
