Author Jimmy Olsen will speak 10 a.m. January 26 at the Herman Library. Olsen is originally from Hoffman and graduated from Hoffman High School and now spends his time between St. Cloud and Hoffman. He has authored several books, the most recent being “Scuba.”
Before writing novels, Olsen worked as a journalist and told KMRS how sharing the fictional name of Superman’s friend helped him land his first newspaper job.
One of Olsen’s previous novels, Things in Ditches, was a regional bestseller about a murder mystery in a small town. At his Herman presentation, Olsen said he will bring some books along for sale and donate 40 percent of proceeds to the library.
