The extreme cold weather was too much for one of the old steam boilers at Morris Area High School. The school is in the midst of a renovation project and one of the boilers gave out and stopped working yesterday. Superintendent Rick Lahn said a new boiler is already on the way, but in the meantime, Grades 6 through 12 will not have any school today, next Monday or Tuesday.
The new boiler may be delivered as early as today. Today is not considered an e-Learning day for the district as teachers plan for next week’s electronic lessons and students get a chance to catch up with this week’s lessons, but e-Learning days will go into effect on Monday and Tuesday. The Elementary School building and all activities that go on there will be open as scheduled starting today, including a basketball game tonight in the Elementary Gym.
