While Governor Walz seeks to restore Local Government Aid funding to 2002 levels, District 12 State Senator Torrey Westrom told KMRS that $30 million is a lot to hope for in one legislative session. But the Elbow Lake Republican remains hopeful a deal can be reached.
Those financial pressures include funding for education, health care, infrastructure, and agriculture.
For his part, District 12A State Representative Jeff Backer told the KMRS Legislative Corner that he would prefer to see a plan which has Cities and Counties working together and a bill that would fund both at the same time.
The full interviews with Westrom and Backer can be found on our webpage at kmrskkok.com, under the News tab and in the Community Connection section.
