Melrose 64, Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 59
MORRIS – Preston Keaveny scored 16 of his 24 points in the second half to lead Melrose past Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 64-59.
The Tigers 44 percent shooting was offset by 16 turnovers and going just 11-22 at the foul line as their four-game win streak was snapped.
Jaret Johnson had 21 points, Jackson Loge scored 18, and Camden Arndt added eight points with 10 rebounds and six assists as the Tigers fall to 10-8 overall, 6-6 in the West Central Conference. The Dutchmen are now 15-4, 11-1 in conference play.

Minnewaska 67, Benson 44
GLENWOOD – Minnewaska shot 50 percent from the floor, hitting nine threes in a 67-44 win over Benson on Friday.
Peyton Johnsrud led three Lakers in double-figures scoring with 18 points, Ryan Amundson had 13, and Jack Blevins added 12 while Aaron VerSteeg pulled down nine rebounds.
Minnewaska is 12-7, 8-4 in the West Central Conference. Ben Peterson led the Braves with 13 points as they fall to 5-15, 3-10 in conference.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley 37, Park Christian 36
GRACEVILLE – Reanna Ward scored 17 points with nine rebounds to help Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley edge Park Christian 37-36 on Friday in Graceville.
Emma Botker had 11 points with 13 rebounds, while Mataiah Turner added eight points and four steals for the Wolverines who are 15-5. The Falcons fall to 16-5.

BOYS HOCKEY

Prairie Centre 4, Morris/Benson Area 1
SAUK CENTRE – Brady Miller scored twice with an assist and Isaiah Defoe stopped 15 shots as Prarie Centre beat Morris/Benson Area 4-1 on Friday.
Chase Engebretson did all he could to keep the Storm in the game, stopping 51 shots in net, Will Breuer scored their lone goal on a feed from Tyler Buss as they fall to 8-12. The North Stars are 15-7-1.


GYMNASTICS

West Central Conference Meet
MELROSE – Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta freshman Olivia Lebrija was named all-conference and the Tigers took third at the West Central Conference meet in Melrose on Friday.
The Tigers posted a scored of 122.3, while conference champion Melrose scored a 142.5, runner-up Benson had a score of 133.3.
