Liberal Arts Conference Championships
CEDAR RAPIDS – The Minnesota Morris swimming & diving program closed out day two of the Liberal Arts Championships tied for third in the standings with 137 points.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the quartet of Caitlin Papke, Olivia Salzwedel, Sierra Walker and Liz Melssen combined for a time of 1:43.62 to finish sixth.

The quartet of Papke, Walker, Carolyn Curtis and Melssen took seventh in the 400-yard medley relay with their time of 4:21.20.

Melssen swam in the B final of the 500-yard freestyle and finished 13th overall with her time of 5:42.74.

In the 200-yard individual medley, Papke clocked in at 2:18.89 to finish seventh overall.

The 50-yard freestyle saw a pair of Cougars compete in the B final. In the event, Salzwedel took 12th (25.78) and Curtis finished 15th (25.97).

Day three of the Liberal Arts Championships gets underway on Friday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m.

Preseason Coaches Polls
ST. PAUL – The University of Minnesota Morris baseball team was picked fifth in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, announced Thursday. The Cougars received 37 points in the poll.
The 2019 Cougar baseball roster is comprised of 29 student-athletes, which includes 15 returners from last season. The 2019 Minnesota Morris baseball season gets underway on Feb. 23 against Carleton College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
