The next topic in the Come Grow With Us series will be Gardening in Minnesota’s Changing Climate from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Ag Country Auditorium of the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris. Joe Storlien, who received his Ph.D. in soil science from Texas A&M University, will discuss how climate change relates to our own gardens. Storlien has been a professor of environmental studies at St. John’s University since 2014 and is U of M Extension Master Gardener for Stearns County.

Horticulture scientist Steve Poppe of the West Central Research and Outreach Center in Morris told KMRS that one of the effects of climate change Minnesotans are seeing is that most parts of the state are now in a different heartiness zone for growing purposes.

The event is free, donations are welcome.
