Hancock 72, Ashby 63
ASHBY – Four Owls scored in double-figures as Hancock earned a key section win with a 72-63 defeat of the Arrows in Ashby.
The Arrows kept the game within reach throughout the second half, but Hancock was able to hang on by going 15-20 at the free throw line, including 8-10 in the closing minutes.
Bennett Nienhaus scored a game-high 23 points, Connor Reese had 16 with seven assists, Cole Reese and Daniel Milander each added 11 points, Peyton Rohloff chipped in nine with eight rebounds and the Owls are now 16-5 on the season, 7-2 in the Pheasant Conference.
Ashby got 19 points and 10 rebounds from Christian Norby, Jaden Norby added 13 points with 12 rebounds, Scott Johnson chipped in 18 points as they fall to 13-6 overall, 4-3 in conference.

Ortonville 70, West Central Area 61
ORTONVILLE – In a game where both teams shot nearly 50 percent from the floor, Ortonville outlasted West Central Area 70-61 to earn the Pheasant Conference title.
The Knights led 52-51 with six minutes remaining, but the Trojans came up with key plays and clutch free throws down the stretch. Led by Tyson Powell who had 20 points the Trojans improved to 15-2 overall, 9-0 in conference play.
Teigen Moritz had 14 points while Gage Staples scored 13 for the Knights, each grabbed six rebounds. Jack Van Kempen had 11 points, nine boards, and Jacob Bright chipped in 12 points as West Central Area falls to 12-7 overall, 6-3 in conference.

Minnewaska 60, Paynesville 53
PAYNESVILLE – Aaron Ver Steeg and Shawn Carsten each posted double-doubles and Minnewaska defeated Paynesville 60-53 on Tuesday.
VerSteeg had 11 points with 12 rebounds while Carsten added 10 points and 13 boards for the Lakers who shot 43 percent and hit 15-21 at the foul line. Jack Blevins led Minnewaska with 18 points as they moved to 15-8 on the season.
Brendan Uhlenkamp had 19 for the Bulldogs who fell to 10-10.

Brandon-Evansville 71, Wheaton/Herman-Norcross 46
WHEATON – Tanner Bitzan had 21 points with 12 rebounds and Brandon-Evansville who won won their fifth straight game with a 71-46 victory over Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.
The Chargers shot 46 percent and got 12 points from Eli Anderson, Marshall Riedel added 10 points with five assists, and Keagen Schiele chipped in eight points, seven rebounds.
The Chargers are now 13-10, 5-4 in the Pheasant Conference. Zach Stueve had 20 points with eight rebounds for the Warriors who drop to 6-13, just 1-7 in conference.

Hancock 60, Ashby 51
ASHBY – Hancock shot 58 percent in the second half and pulled away late for a 60-51 victory over Ashby.
Lexi Staples led the Owls with 16 points, Carlee Hanson filled the stat sheet with 10 points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and three steals, while Rylee Hanson added 13 points.
The Owls dominated the glass, outrebounding the Arrows 45-28 to earn their second straight Pheasant Conference win in as many nights. Hancock is 10-11 overall, 4-7 in conference play.
Courtney Koefod had a game-high 21 points, Celi Nelson and Josey Ness each added 12 as Ashby falls to 6-16 overall, 1-7 in conference.

Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 48, Montevideo 42
MORRIS – Riley Decker scored 17 points on senior night to lead Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta to past Montevideo 48-42 at the Tiger Center.
Decker added five assists while fellow seniors Liz Dietz and Jordann Baier combined for eight points. Malory Anderson scored nine with 10 rebounds for the Tigers who finished the regular season 13-8, 7-5 in the West Central Conference.
The Thunder Hawks enter the postseason at 2-17, 1-12 in conference.
