Assistant Stevens County Attorney Elisabeth Kirchner will be resigning March 8, as she heads over to the Clay County attorney’s office. The County is currently advertising for her replacement. Those interested may go to the County’s website for requirements and an application, or stop by the County Attorney’s office in the Courthouse.

The board approved new software for a dictation system jointly used by the Sheriff’s Office and the County Attorney’s office. The system has an app for smart phones, which all deputies have from the County, that will allow for statements to be taken on site, rather than having to bring witnesses and others back to the Courthouse in Morris. It has a $1200 initial setup fee, and a $2118 recurring cost.
