In an interview that will air on the KMRS Legislative Corner this Sunday morning, District 12 State Senator Torrey Westrom was sharply critical of Governor Tim Walz’s 20 cent per gallon gasoline tax to fund road and bridge repairs. Westrom referred to the proposal as Walz’s “grand and great tax increase for…the motor and driving public.”

Westrom noted that Walz had floated the idea of a 10 cent per gallon gas tax during his election campaign, so the Elbow Lake Republican was surprised that the governor put the 20 cent figure into his budget proposal.
