At this week’s meeting of the Stevens County Board of Commissioners, Health and Human Services Director Liberty Sleiter presented some year in review statistics for 2018. County Coordinator Rebecca Young explained to KMRS after the meeting that the HHS department is seeing more people.
Figures for both adults and children are up about 40, while the number of out of home placements was 30 for 2018. Over the course of the past three years, the number of intakes has increased about 100 in the county.
Young said the numbers of people needing the services are not expected to decline in the near future.
