MORRIS – Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta grabbed the no. 3 seed in the boys section 3AA-North playoffs on Monday, with it they have received a home playoff game against Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City on Saturday night at 7:00.
The Tigers (16-8) enter the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the section, winners of six straight, and 10 of their last 11.
They split their two games with the Falcons (10-14) with each team winning on the road. The Tigers ended ACGC’s season in the quarterfinal round last year at the Tiger Center.
Minnewaska Area (16-8) is the no. 2 seed and will host Benson (7-17), meaning there is a chance for a sub-section semifinal rematch between the Tigers and Lakers, after last year’s classic that went to Minnewaska in overtime.
Top-seed is New London-Spicer (18-7), and the Wildcats host Montevideo (1-19), while fourth-seed Redwood Valley (12-10) takes on Paynesville (10-12).
St. James Area is the top-seed in the south sub-section, with Jackson County Central, Pipestone, and Martin County West 2-4.
