Section 3AA-North Semifinals

WILLMAR – After a hot start,  Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta cooled off in the second half as their season came to an end with a 63-53 loss to Eden Valley-Watkins in the section 3AA-north semifinals from Willmar on Thursday.
The Tigers led 34-32 at halftime against an Eagles team that allowed on average just 31 points per game. But the Tigers struggled in the second half, managing just four points through the first 10 minutes.
The Eagles meanwhile built up a 10-point lead and held on late, getting 30 points from Emma Schultz to improve to 26-0 on the season.
Emma Bowman led the Tigers with 19 points, Malory Anderson had 14 with 12 rebounds, Maddie Carrington and Riley Decker combined for 15 and the Tigers season ends with a record of 15-9.

BARRETT – Lexi Bright scored a career-high 34 points to lead West Central Area past Hancock 86-53 in Barrett.
The Knights hit 10 threes while shooting 49 percent and getting 17 points from Ella Van Kempen, nine from Morgan Woodle, and eight from Hailey Bennett to move to 19-6 on the year. The Knights face Underwood on Saturday at 2:45.
Rylee Hanson led the Owls with 14 points, Carlee Hanson had a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds. Hancock’s season ends with a mark of 11-12.

GRACEVILLE – Reanna Ward finished with a game-high 20 points on 9-13 shooting and CGB dominated B-E 67-37 from Graceville.
Ward pulled down six rebounds, while Emma Botker posted a double-double with 13 points and 1o boards. The Wolverines shot 51 percent against one of the better defensive teams in the section, getting nine points from Tylaina Issendorf, eight from Lora Botker, and Mataiah Turner added seven. The Wolverines are 19-5 while the Chargers season ends with a 15-10 mark.
