Hancock senior forward Bennett Nienhaus has been named the Pheasant Conference Co-Most Valuable Player for the 2018-19 season, sharing the award with Ortonville’s Tyson Powell.
Nienhaus averaged 20 points per game, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.5 steals, leading the Owls to a 9-3 conference record, good for second place.
Joining Nienhaus on the All-Conference roster are teammates Cole Reese, Connor Reese, and Peyton Rohloff.
Joining Powell from the Trojans is DaVonte Edwards as all-conference, and Tim Giese was named Coach of the Year, guiding the Trojans to conference title with an 11-0 record.
West Central Area had three named all-conference, including Jack Van Kempen, Teigen Mortiz, and Grant Beuckens.
Others included Brandon-Evansville’s Tanner Bitzan and Keagan Schiele, Sander Frustol of Hillcrest, Matt Thielen of Wheaton/Herman-Norcross, and Caleb Cardwell of Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley.
Honorable mentions were Mitch Meyer (Ortonville), Pete Treinen (Ortonville), Gage Staples (WCA), Gabe Preston (Hillcrest), Hunter Johnson (WHN), and Sam Adelman (CGB).
